Pennsylvania is a geographical bridge between the Northeast United States and the southern states of the United States, and a bridge between the Atlantic Ocean States and the Midwest countries. The country is bordered to the north by New York, to the east, across the Delaware River in New Jersey, to the south by Delaware, Maryland, and West Virginia, and to the west by Ohio. In the north of the country lies Erie.
The main rivers in the country are the Delaware River, Susquana, Monongahala, Olgany and the Ohio River.
The length of the country is 290 km from north to south, and 500 km from east to west. The total area of the country is 119,283 square kilometers of which 2,990 square kilometers are water areas. Pennsylvania is the 33rd largest state in the United States.
The highest point in the country is Mount Davis, which is 979 meters above sea level.
The country is diagonally crossed by the Appalachian Mountains crossing the country from northeast to southwest. The northern part of the mountains is the level of Olgany.
The state has 143 miles of beaches along the Delaware River, which is actually a tongue-in-cheek, but the state does not have a direct coastline with the Atlantic Ocean. However, the Port of Philadelphia is one of the major sea ports of the United States.
