A 97-year-old historic building was completely destroyed after the company that led the project became confused with the designated property located on the same street. The stunned owner who was about to renovate realizes it won't happen anymore. On the other hand, the company responsible for the defaults made an apology statement and hung the reason for the error in several factors.
A demolition company that was hired last week to demolish a private house in Dallas Texas did do so and destroyed the building to the ground, but then it turned out - she made a mistake in the address.
The bitter mistake occurred in another private house located on the same street where the designated building is also located.
The owner of the ruined property is Jeremy Weninger, a Los Angeles resident who inherited the house built in 1923 from his close friend, Mary Ann who passed away several years ago.
"I still can not digest that it did happen," Weninger wrote on his Facebook account, "We did everything to save the house. Rest in peace, my dear friend, Mary Ann."
For 97 years, the historic property survived until its default was destroyed. Wenninger had plans for extensive renovation of the house that was about to start, and then received the harsh news that there was no longer anything left to renovate.
"I have worked in the Demolition field for over 35 years, and behind thousands of jobs during my career. This is the first time such a thing has happened to me. We made a mistake when we thought it was the intended property," said Bobby Lindmond, owner of JR Demolition, the default. .
He added that a number of factors led to a mistake - the address did not appear on the house, the heavy rain that fell that day and the fact that the curb next to the property, which indicates the building number, was covered with water and dirt.
According to Lindmund, the house looked abandoned and neglected and said it was similar in condition to other houses destroyed by the company on the same street. In any case, the company owner announced that he would now work with the landlord to resolve the incident.
In the photos - this is what the house looked like before and after the unnecessary demolition.
