Do you have a guru? Get rid of him.
We all know them from a variety of fields. Gurus for investments, real estate, marketing, health or beauty. They are outgoing, prominent, eloquent and charismatic. Some fly all over themselves, with slicked-back hair, others flaunt an outfit that sets them apart from the rest. Too white suit, too tight sweater, too pointed shoes. Their extroverted and condescending message is wrapped in a choponi wrapper. They are more successful and smarter than you, so it is important that you listen to them, learn from them and of course it is desirable that you sign up for their exorbitantly priced seminar, buy the book-lecture-package-because-it-is-almost-not-left-now-on-sale-just-for-you.
Beginning to identify who this is? Let me give you some more clues on how to easily identify the gurus and keep them away.
On social media, it's really easy to spot today's gurus but hard to dodge. They flood the web with photos of themselves or videos and posts with motivational statements that will make you feel like due to a 90s New Age conference, with lots of pathos but little real content. Their selfies per post are impressive. They have a fan base made up mostly of their employees or and relatives but also a true burnt fan base hungry who will happily eat any lukes that the guru will feed them. Fans are sure the sun is shining from the butt of their guru. They will follow, share and write responses to their gurus PR machine which are cannons, calibers and other weapons from the field of armor and will protect their gurus from any trouble or just from skeptical professionals.
The gurus are also band animals and go to conferences where other gurus are hosted. On the stages they will lick each other and behind the scenes they will close who gets what morsel from the mast sucker they will catch on their net.
It is easy to find them always grazing in the fields of other people's dreams. They have methods that they promise to dreamers: you too can apply, if you just get up at 4 in the morning every day, swim 2 kilometers in the sea, stand on one leg, become a vegan, and take the next ten steps. . . Your life will take a 180 degree turn, (assuming you didn't drown in the waves or starve to death), and you will become rich, beautiful and happy from eternal losers without a horizon. Since happiness has no price then what is the point of putting ten thousand dollars on the guru's workshop and if you sign up today, you will get the book for free. Great deal, isn't it? There is also a chance that you will meet the guru yourself, in a webinar of course because the guru went on vacation in the Caribbean at your expense and is a bit unavailable, genius did we say?
If the guru's advice does not work, because in Thessalonica they are usually a collection of nonsense in tomato juice or just false lies and half truths, then they will imply that you are to blame. That you were not devoted enough to the system laws they invented. Maybe you got up at 4 and a quarter instead of 4 in the morning, you invested in the wrong opportunities or you gave up and retired too early.
My recommendation. Did you come across a guru? Get him a kibinimt or just ignore him.
If you believe you are a true and eternal loser, then there should be an intervention of mental health and medical professionals here. If you're just looking for inspiration and believing in others, that's fine but remember what the late Meir Banai said in the song of Chef Chef, what I am I am just a human being... That intention gives faith. As a cannon or at all larger than life so he is probably a scavenger and charlatan if he means and really implements then he is usually not available to sell you lukes.
The real successful people are busy doing things, not brainwashing. They simply do not have time for bullshit and they are not trying to sell you anything but a service, net merchandise or a maximum of specific knowledge that is worth money. Certainly not a way of life or no workshops are expended and no methods and shortcuts for life's adventures. Find your way to what you define as success, it's up to you.
