A lot of investors do a home check before purchasing pointing out any deficiencies in the home but don't attach much importance to the house's sewer line. Even at the beginning of my life as a young investor 10 years ago, I didn't consider it very important because no one guided or guided me.
Today after trying dozens of homes I know very well that the sewer line is in the property owner's nurses until it connects with the municipality's line.

In a large part of the houses it is a clay pipe that was laid decades ago. Root penetration and even pipe collapse are not uncommon. The cost of replacing the pipe is about 7 to 10 thousand dollars which is significant.
Homes that have already been replaced can easily be identified by finding a plastic pipe (usually white) that protrudes slightly from the ground a short distance from the home wall. If the tube has already been replaced it is a long term benefit and the test can be waived.
You can also check the building's renovation history in the municipality's building department. In most cases, the contractor needs to get permission from the municipality and things are documented many years back.
That way you can learn a lot about the state of the property. The municipality will also show whether there were any problems with the property identified by the municipality's supervisors.
