Investor Travel Diary - Day Three
Today I did not plan many meetings because I knew I would have many trips.
The plan was to test a new investment destination - Tallahassee. The reason I decided on this city is mainly because no one is talking about it. As a beginning investor and entrepreneur, one of the things that I find most disturbing is that I always find that a particular place is good for investing after it has already reached its peak (or really close to there). It also makes a lot of sense, since someone who is already a veteran and deep in the business, probably has a lot of knowledge and a network of connections that will help him discover these places first. So I decided to "run away" and check out a place that was less central, and so I got to Tallahassee. So who has heard of Tallahassee? True, most of you probably do not. It turns out that there is the largest university in the area, a relatively small city (everything is relative in life), overall quite average demographically. The city is in positive but relatively moderate immigration. I arranged a meeting with a realtor and another asset management company. In the morning the realtor informed me that she would not be able to meet following some medical event in the family (health only), so in the middle of the trip I decided to make a U-turn and turn the meeting with the management company into a Skype meeting. Overall a good conversation! We see a big difference between this company and Jacksonville. Much quieter and calmer… Bottom line, I passed them the ball and now they are looking for me interesting assets. At the same time of course I will continue to explore the city a little more in depth.
I took advantage of the travel time savings and booked an appointment with a Jacksonville realtor recommended by Einat Roth-Sharon. I arrived in a very beautiful neighborhood, an elegant office building and I realized that this is a different level… I met an older woman, who is considered to have many years of experience. Quite at first we realized that this is probably not exactly what I am looking for (I want to work at a fast pace and she is at a slower pace) and it just made our conversation more interesting and fulfilling. In the end we agreed that she would open her eyes and ears and if she finds any deal that fits the criteria I gave her then she will talk to me. And I truly believe that will happen. Like she said - she will not run around looking for good deals for me but if there is an opportunity she will pass it on straight away (first to Einat of course and then to me, still a first right).
There was a pause here and I was interviewed by Ido and Lior. So expect an interview, yes ?!
We got to the interesting part of the day. Orlando Magic VS Charlotte Hornets !!! I promised I'd make a little old dream back here. After a long ride during rush hour, I came to the game. excitement! What an experience ... Although the game has been decided in the first quarter or so, but which show is an NBA game ... I really recommend to anyone who travels, especially for the first trip, to combine something like that. Something that is neither real estate nor meetings, but simply pleasure. And everywhere you can find ...
This. It's too late after a long trip back to Jacksonville ...
Tomorrow is the last day. Last day and last closures before returning to Israel.
Have a nice weekend there in the Holy Land!
