Dealing with pressures and changes in the real estate world

What is going to happen?
So this week I go into the big shoes of the "entrepreneurs of the week," thanking Lior onstage.
So in a few words about me and me, I am co-owner of SafetyNet, have been operating in Orlando, Florida for the last eight years as a real estate agency for local investors and distant investors.

This week I will start with a slightly different post from my usual content, dealing with pressures and changes in the real estate world in particular and in the investment world as a whole.

In contrast to the accepted way of life in our world, where an army is completed, a degree is obtained and a work is integrated into the work, I chose a different path. As long as I can remember, I had a hard time accepting the typical life model, always looking for something else, something that would give me satisfaction on the one hand and freedom from the other. When I discovered real estate I was in the clouds, an interesting and challenging area where I could fit in and lead the way I chose to go.
Over the years I understood the minuses, to be an investor and certainly to be an entrepreneur and an investor. No, I'm not talking about the usual difficulties such as losses or demand for additional equity. But rather on the difficulties that less are talked about, the psychological and psychological difficulties.
The investment world is a volatile world, a world in which the underwriters are part of the schedule and dealing with disappointments is part of the day-to-day. I quickly discovered that the only way to reach and go to destinations was to deal with the psychological aspect, a war on calm, on peace and quiet.
As a project manager with investors on the one hand, suppliers on the other, and a work plan for which deviations have great significance for those involved, I learned that in order to succeed, one has to remain calm at all costs. No matter what the situation is about me, because if I'm not calm, the team with me has long been in chaos.
Unfortunately, I did not prepare for this part of my chosen field. And the pressure affected, from lack of sleep, hair loss, knuckles and nerves or pressure, impatience, anxiety and the list goes on. I think I experienced everything from everything and survived, survived to tell, to help and support.

First of all, two sentences that accompany me in the most difficult moments "Expect the best, plan for the worst, and prepare to be surprised," and "Man is planning and God is laughing"
Two sentences define our world, and understanding is 50% of the contest.
After I realized that this is how this field will be, here are some practical tips for dealing with stress. Actions that I try to apply even when difficult, even when the pressure suffocates and the body begs for a drop of calm and rest.

1. Separation of work from personal life - something I learned from my wife (more correctly, I was forced to learn), that for her great fortune to work as an employee, a separation must be fought at all costs! Always remember and mention that it is our work and work as at work sometimes the pressure increases. Separation that comes naturally to our salaried friend, but is sometimes forgotten by the self-employed. Leave time for yourself, your family, fight for moments not thinking about work or investing, and in those moments turn your head and enjoy the moment.

2. Calculated responses - how much less emotion and common sense. I believe that we as humans can handle everything on an educational level. The problem begins when emotion gets into the mix. Here we can make mistakes and not respond best. Feeling that emotion gets into your actions and decisions? Stop, breathe, and go for a run or a walk. The world will wait.

3. Positive Thinking at All Costs - My last tip for the day, even when the situation is hard and it seems that the light is far from you, will fight with yourself to find the bright side. From experience, every occurrence has two sides, the great thing is to find and delve into the pink side. Responses will be sharper and more accurate. Slowly watch how the trouble disappears and resolves.
Now your stage.

How do you deal with stress? How do you manage to look at the madness in which we work and not escape to the safe world?

  • A great and true post. Some salaried employees also have pressure, and as you mentioned, they must learn to release.
  • boom! Coping is endless. Good post. Like I wrote it?
  • Hi Michael. Great post that touches on very important points. Definitely connects to everything you wrote. There are definitely more stressful periods and less stressful periods. I try to do a lot of sports to release the tension. Spending a lot of quality time with the kids you associate with is the most innocent and clean and it helps to put the tensions aside, and in the end there are the least pleasant parties in real estate like in different real estate, but once you love and live the realm most activity doesn't feel like work to you - For example managing the forum, building platforms for the community, locating and analyzing new assets and markets, working with the various banks on financing, etc. - Many of these are a matter of the approach of how to take the challenge - I see everything as a learning element that will improve my knowledge and performance - and I Every day, a lot of people learn from the community and enjoy the mutual help that people give to each other and the like A son that every positive feedback is encouraging. I think it is much easier to deal with things together and this forum is excellent. I do not feel that I am alone in dealing with all kinds of new problems that I do not yet know the answer to, and it gives a great deal of comfort to know that there is the back of such an amazing community! ???
  • Hey Michael, identify with every word. There is nothing like creativity to overcome obstacles and of course satisfaction after we overcome it.
  • Awesome post. Very sympathetic. A subject that is not and mainly repressed
  • By the way, Robert Shumen's program also works on the mental and emotional side of the NLP world, and Robert himself gives a lot of room for this side in all the meetings
  • An important issue, thanks for the great tips!
I mostly use “positive thinking at all costs”, it kind of holds me
  • Real ?
  • Important post.Thanks.
  • Well spoken. Thanks
  • Important post. In my opinion, the most important tip I make myself on this day is always optimistic to look at the good on the horizon
  • Beautiful Michael! thanks for sharing….?
  • BOOM is just a bomb to the point, Tachles It's all mindset from which you create who you are and your fighting, a beautiful reporter
  • Excellent post and so true. I was very much connected to the 2 section, which talks about making decisions from an intellectual place rather than an emotional one. We tend to make decisions first of all from the intuitive place: researchers talk that in 99% we operate from the intuitive system and only in 1% do we operate from the mental system. And if we stop for a moment and let the 1 (the intuitive system) pass, we can make room for the 2 system. I find this a challenging but always important task. Certainly one of the gifts that we entrepreneurs need to give to ourselves
  • I loved this post so much!
Read it over and over again
    Michael Thanks
  • Excellent post
    Thank you
It is very important to show the less pleasant sides.
I have been investing in the US for a year (I have a longer buzz in Israel) and this year I experienced so many difficulties that it is hard for me to believe that this is normal
And here you write such a post, and lets understand that we are all in the same boat
    So thank you
  • Wow, what a pleasure to land and see all the many comments, glad that many joined :))
  • Achla Post Michael,
Really describes the situation in our field, and really it is important to go through processes and be mentally prepared for the worst to get everything that happens coolly
And things happen all the time.
Even when I started, I thought everything was rosy, "Americans are not like Israelis, no cheaters, word is word, contractors do serious work ..."
And I thought that only I encountered such problems until I entered into in-depth conversations with colleagues and it became clear that everyone was experiencing the same challenges.
It is therefore very important to be prepared in the mental section.
  • Michael Post is excellent, reflects very much the current situation.
As for the 1 clause, it is so important and so difficult to apply especially at first that you feel that you are giving gas in neutral.
As for how to handle and launch 3, maybe a little cliche but in any bad situation can be worse and access to the situation is the one that will get us out of the best, here, too easy to register it and difficult to implement it.
    Good for you ?
  • Thanks. Most of us have a tendency to think that only we are pressured and with everything else, everything is ticking at one level or another. Not that it should be encouraging in some way, but knowing that some people will understand your path (including the latent affection for creativity in the ULM solution) makes it easier. So your question is how we deal: (and I'm still in the first steps) 1. To cope with every step of the way, with fears of the next step or choice I made and still unsure of, as someone who grew up in a very pessimistic house, let alone see black, I remind myself that it is not mine! These are patterns of thinking that I've adopted and if they're not mine, I really don't have to choose them.
    2. When you have to make a decision and there are a few voices around and each one pulls in its direction, I focus on the fact that everything one says or thinks, including me, is just a point of view. This is a 'subjective' truth. Which immediately reminds me that in the end, listen to everyone but trust what is right for me.
Last but not least, surround myself with empowering people, who inspire me and spur me on.
To my delight, I have won such things and this leads to one of the most empowering things
    4. To be grateful every moment. For everything.

I got a little 'Rochniki', but believe that we have everything.
And as a Robert Project X graduate, I really like his approach to doing business with mutual respect for everyone, and positivity.

    Thanks for the post
    About the wonderful group
And to a successful and smiling business life for all of us?

    Excellent post.
I have several apartments (mainly in Europe) that naturally have occasional problems with tenants or repairs. When that happened, it would bother me so I made the following decisions: 1. Positive review - the portfolio works well and generates a satisfactory average yield and therefore any failure, it does not significantly change the average yield.2. Expect that at least once a month there will be a glitch. No beauty happened. Happened, then as I expected.

    3. Troubling problems can be solved with money. Sometimes he prefers to pay and someone else will take care of the problem. My silence is worth more to me sometimes.

    4. Not letting trouble bother me. Shifting the thought from an obsessive thought to a thought about nothing (recently practicing meditation).

    5. In recent times, I have been visiting a hospital, which gives a proportion to life.

    6. Sports sports and other sports time

  • Great post, thank you, this is a party that really doesn't talk about it ...
Agree with you on everything you've written ...
  • Excellent post thanks
  • Hi Michael, Thank you for the cooperation that is so true in any independent business, and not just for those involved. Very attached to what you wrote
  • Great post - definitely empathizes.
There are really no moments of pressure. The trick is to breathe and act calm and not under stress
  • Thanks Michael and well done for sharing.
Certainly identifies and always tries to make a separation to family life.
Sports? ‍♂️ It's definitely the thing that helps.
  • Excellent post-thanks
  • Michael Post is so important and correct! Connects to your feelings, feelings, and message. Success comes from mind-set, flexibility and creativity in my eyes. No matter what field. And I am constantly re-discovering how our thinking patterns and habits of life sometimes stick a stick in the wheels.
A few things I do to deal with everything you wrote:
    1. I practice mindfulness every morning. It allows me not to be detached from my feelings and thoughts but also not to drift away and be in turmoil. Conscious in a way that allows for steady observation. It allows me to pause auto-response, and most of all, not to judge myself and others. It is amazing how much it provides the foundation for everything ...
    2. I try to surround myself with people who have a world view similar to mine, which is very reminiscent of yours and my friends and family who are not there - and sometimes worry too much, and seep into fear without noticing - I try not to share the business. Not everyone is suitable, and you have to know how to clean up unnecessary fear sounds that delay the way.
    3. She strongly believes in life arrangements. I mean, if I'm on a trip now, I'm on a trip. If I'm at a wedding, I will not read emails, and if I'm at a meeting I do not answer the phone. I give myself and others the proper respect for being present at the moment, and to understand that things and people can wait. Even if it seems to us that it's urgent - usually it's not a matter of life and death.
    4. I aspire every day (really every day) to remind myself of life stories and the way I heard, of people who grew up in amazing places, because the beautiful lotus prize also grows from the hardest marshes, and bamboo takes 5 years to grow underground if farmed and cultivated daily. What happens after 5 years? In 5 weeks it grows to tens of meters. Point of thought ... Not always what we sow sees immediate results. But all this is an important way. I will say that I come from a family of traders and self-employed who have experienced ups and downs. At the same time, the thinking of the day is not always aligned with today's reality, so I tend to maintain values of giving and collaboration but also being open to learning every time. , And make it easy for myself that it's okay to be mistaken, confused and not be in a place that knows.
That's life in fact:) What else? I am a great believer in creative thinking, and how to grow from places of pain to growth, and especially in the sentence I most believe in - to find the way to turn every lemon into lemonade. This is essentially post-traumatic growth in essence.

I have been privileged to hear and help people who have experienced the most difficult places in their lives, really things that are heard in films and do not believe how the person is sitting right now and wants to get help.
There..that is where there is the greatest hope and optimism ... From there I get proportions and understanding how sometimes there are difficulties, but everything in proportion ... How much gratitude is important..and reminding ourselves of the things that are important to us and what is present in our lives. And some of the human psyche is stronger than we think.
Trying to listen to people like that all the time.

I have a lot more to say about this, but I'll just add that finding the roads as you wrote, shaping our thoughts, and so on our habits of life and behavior - is the recipe for mental well-being and peace. From there everything is possible.
And thanks. again. On the possibility of registering it. A charming and extremely important post.

  • Michael, great! Post-writer is important. The way to success (in any field) requires control over the emotional world!
  • Thanks for sharing, I agree with every word. Until now I remember our first home, when we sent a proposal and it was accepted and I got an agreement to sign I was in the chapter with the children, I was anxious to read the agreement and give a quick and accurate answer. Was totally unnecessary. I learned to take a breath, to think, to weigh, as you wrote without feeling, it's all small obstacles on the way, there is a solution to every problem. Do not let yourself be dragged into late work and fall into sleeplessness. Hiking and quality time with family, sports, meditation, good content and Mindset ingredients, putting air in first place, are our fuel to succeed and not vice versa.
  • Very interesting.
  • The psychological look is not much discussed, but I agree with you that it is very important, thank you very much
  • An amazing post and the reactions to it add more and more layers. Group sharing levels are always exciting and surprising.
  • Thanks?
  • Interesting post and above, with the most important insights, thanks.
  • Tammy,
You have certainly touched and excited. So true, and so precise, thank you,
    Pleasure to read
    ?????
  • Excellent post. He really talks to me as an investor. Every time there are surprises, I get stuck in a disproportionate way. Unfortunately, I have not learned to deal with this and really hurt my quality of life. The only thing that calms me is that I decide on a work plan to solve the problem and start to act.
  • : )
  • Excellent post! Transverse and important in any situation, and the wording is excellent and accurate! Thank you.
  • This is such a great post that is truly a party no one talks about but definitely exists for all of us. Thank you ?
  • So true. It is fascinating to read this from the side of entrepreneurs and lenders. It is interesting to hear more about your situations and how they ended
  • Roni

    Excellent post.
I have several apartments (mainly in Europe) that naturally have occasional problems with tenants or repairs. When that happened, it would bother me, so I made the following decisions:

Positive looking - the portfolio works well and creates a satisfactory average return and therefore any fault, it does not significantly change the average return.

    2. Expect that at least once a month there will be a glitch. No beauty happened. Happened, then as I expected.

    3. Troubling problems can be solved with money. Sometimes he prefers to pay and someone else will take care of the problem. My silence is worth more to me sometimes.

  9. Thanks. Most of us have a tendency to think that only we are stressed and with everything else, everything is ticking on one level or another. Not that it should be encouraging in any way, but knowing that there are people who will understand your way (including the latent fondness for creativity in solving unresolved issues) makes it a little easier.

So to your question how we deal: (and I'm still in the initial stages)

  15. Excellent post
    Thank you
It is very important to show the less pleasant sides.
I have been investing in the US for a year (I have a longer buzz in Israel) and this year I experienced so many difficulties that it is hard for me to believe that this is normal
And here you write such a post, and lets understand that we are all in the same boat
    So thank you

  17. Excellent post and so true.

  19. Hi Michael. Great post that touches on very important points. I definitely agree with everything you wrote. There are definitely more stressful periods and less stressful periods. I try to do a lot of sports to release the tensions. Spending a lot of quality time with the children, with whom the relationship is the most innocent and pure, and it helps to put the tensions aside, and in the end, although there are the less pleasant aspects of real estate, such as various mortgages, but once you love and live the field, most of the activity does not feel like work to you. - For example, managing the forum, building platforms for the community, locating and analyzing new properties and markets, working with the various banks on financing, etc. - Many of the things are a matter of the approach of how to take the challenges - I see everything as an educational element that will improve my knowledge and performance and that of the community - I Every day I learn a lot from the community and enjoy the helpful help people give each other and of course every positive feedback encourages action. I think it's much easier to deal with things together and that's what this forum is great for. I don't feel like I'm alone facing all kinds of new problems that I still don't know the answer to and it gives me a lot of satisfaction to know that such an amazing community has my back! ???
